“It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.”
What we believe affects how we live. When a house is built on a solid foundation, the storms of life won’t destroy it. Taking refuge in that unstable house during the battery will probably result in being crushed. When we put our trust in man, we’re building a safe-place on shaky ground. This false security leads to living for the approval, affection, attention, and acceptance of others. It might hold up for some time, but eventually, our will be self-worth will be swept away, taking our trust in people (and God) with it. Trusting the LORD protects us from the disappointment we experience when other people don’t meet our expectations. Even in the worst of times, we can choose confidence because of what Christ did for us on the cross. In the storm, we can run to Jesus and know that we will never be disappointed by the outcome if we trust Him fully.
"TRUSTING IN THE LORD PROTECTS US FROM THE DISAPPOINTMENT WE EXPERIENCE WHEN OTHER PEOPLE DON'T MEET OUR EXPECTATIONS."
LORD, you are my safe place. Thank you for never disappointing me when I trust you. Please forgive me for valuing the opinions of others instead of fearing you. Please help me to surrender my doubts quickly to you. Expose my beliefs so that you can change them to align with the truth of who you are.
