1 CORINTHIANS 13:7
“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
Love doesn’t give up. Practically speaking, this is the aspect of love that makes it the most difficult. Love is a choice. It’s nearly impossible to love someone in this way actively. The human promise of unconditional love breaks as quickly as it forms. There is a limit to how much a person is willing to endure from another before deciding it’s easier to quit. Only the love of God fulfills every category in this verse. In comparison, the human version of love doubts, wearies, and resigns. If we try to love one another out of our flesh, we will likely end up hurting the person more than if we had received the love of God for them.
"LOVE IS A CHOICE."
LORD, your love makes me whole. My identity is wrapped in the things you have spoken over me, not in the things people have done to me. Please help me to receive your love afresh today. Forgive me for letting my human experience dictate how I treat people. Please keep me in your Spirit so I can choose love even when it feels impossible.
