“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
Let The Word dwell in you. In Psalm 42:9&11, David says, “I say to God, my rock: ‘Why have you forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.” Even when David feels sad and abandoned, He sings to the LORD and reminds himself of the truth about the nature of God. Singing is a powerful way to turn our hearts back to the Lord in remembrance of his faithfulness.
"WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SANG GOD'S WORDS BACK TO HIM WITH THANKSGIVING?"
LORD, you are my rock and my salvation. Thank you for not letting me hear your word and remain unchanged. Thank you for the teaching and conviction of your Holy Spirit. Please forgive me for the times when I have not wanted to sing to you. You are worthy of all praise.
