“Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.”
For the next three weeks, we will be dissecting Psalm 107. This passage is all about giving thanks to God. Are you struggling because you feel like your life is unraveling? You are more than your circumstances. All of those loose ends are in God’s hands, and He is making a beautiful tapestry out of your trials. What better way to prepare our hearts for the Thanksgiving season than with reminders of who God is? He works all things together for His glory and for your good.
To redeem means to “gain or regain possession of (something) in exchange for payment.” God paid the highest price so that He could draw us to Himself. He sacrificed His beloved Son so that He could adopt us as His sons and daughters! The minute we receive the Lord as our savior, we get Him as our redeemer too.
God’s Spirit doesn’t enter a person and leave that person a mess. He gathers us in and changes our life story. He redeems us because He loves us. Today, think about the ways that God has redeemed you and thank Him for it!
"YOU ARE MORE THAN YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES. HE IS MAKING A BEAUTIFUL TAPESTRY OUT OF YOUR TRIALS."
LORD, thank you for Your Holy Spirit that dwells inside of me, redeeming me and making me new every day. Please help me to let go of my life and give it to you wholeheartedly. You are all-powerful, and you do all things well. Thank you for every trial because it’s an opportunity to fellowship with You.
