“He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!”
God can change our situation, but first, He wants to change us through it! God doesn't just leave His people in distress when they cry out to Him. In this verse, He physically delivered them into a peaceful place. The Lord's people were glad that He brought them to their desired haven, but their gratitude was for His love and goodness towards them. Do we thank God for what He does but fail to recognize who He is? If we lose sight of who God is in a situation, we may fail to recognize how He is moving.
"DO WE THANK GOD FOR WHAT HE DOES BUT FAIL TO RECOGNIZE WHO HE IS?"
LORD, thank you for Your peace. Forgive me for losing sight of who You are. Help me to seek You in every circumstance and not what You can do to fix it. I praise you for your love, and thank you for your wondrous works towards me.
