“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:7
The peace of God, acquired through a relationship with Him, seals us in, and keeps the devil out! It’s a fortress that surrounds our hearts and our minds.
Everybody longs for security in this world. Searching for security in our social status, appearance, wealth, or esteem of our peers will always end in disappointment.
Yesterday’s verse provides clear instructions for obtaining the peace of God. When we give Him our lives first, He is faithful to provide for our every need.
When we pray about our circumstances and truly surrender them to God’s will and not ours, He fills us with His peace.
Jesus is the Prince of Peace. What is our first instinct when things don’t go our way? Do we complain or worry, or do we run to Jesus for a peace that we can’t conjure in ourselves?
LORD, thank you for taking care of me. Thank you for Your peace that surpasses all understanding! Forgive me for trying to control my life. I surrender to Your plan because it’s better than what I would have planned for myself. Guard my heart against the one who would steal my peace.
