1 CORINTHIANS 13:4
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude.”
Not surprisingly, Jesus is patient, kind, humble, and gracious. These characteristics are the natural fruit of walking in the Spirit. It’s evident when I’m walking in the flesh because I become self-centered, irritable, insecure, and prideful; love is none of these things. Love empties us of ourselves. The Lord has to clear our vision to see others how He sees them so we may be patient and kind towards them. Our hearts must surrender to God to be content and humble. When there is a heavenly filter on our mouths, we cannot be arrogant or rude. Our treatment of others and our expressions of love are perfected in a relationship with the source of love itself.
"LOVE EMPTIES US OF OURSELVES."
LORD, you are patient and kind with me. Thank you for your power, which enables me to do your will. Please forgive me for not drawing upon your Spirit to love others. Let my love never be enough. Only you can satisfy our hearts, LORD.
