KINDNESS

PSALM 107:35-37

“He turns a desert into pools of water, a parched land into springs of water. And there he lets the hungry dwell, and they establish a city to live in; they sow fields and plant vineyards and get a fruitful yield.”

I eat 3-5 times a day. I drink water so much that I couldn't even come up with an average amount! In the New Testament, Jesus tells the woman at the well that if she had known who asked her for a drink, that she would have asked for living water and never been thirsty again! When we look to the LORD for satisfaction, He fills us with His Holy Spirit. In this Psalm, God makes the land fruitful for the hungry. Then those people who were once hungry can sow in the fields the Lord gave them and yield an abundant harvest. In kindness, God filled in the places where we lack. What will we do with the abundance of compassion that Jesus poured out on us? Are we intentional about asking the Lord to show us how we can fill the people's needs around us? Remember, you reap what you sow!

"AS GOD HAS BEEN KIND TO YOU, SO BE KIND TO YOUR NEIGHBOR."

LORD, thank You for Your kindness. Please forgive me for being stingy and self-focused with my attention. Clear my eyes and open my heart to help those who need it. Thank you that I don't draw from an empty well but that you give me more than I could ever ask for, think, or imagine!
