“Whoever multiplies his wealth by interest and profit gathers it for him who is generous to the poor.”
The Bible is transcendent. The wisdom imparted to us through the Word of God is astonishingly relevant. In an age where people are obsessed with success (in the form of monetary accumulation), it can be tempting to forget how to steward one’s finances well. When I look at some celebrities today with excessive funds, I question why they don’t spend their excess helping others instead of buying another sports car. Unfortunately, that leads me to ask how I spend my money. The truth is, many people have some form of extra resources. However, we forget who provides, divides, and multiplies our wealth. One question that always challenges me is: what would the Lord do with my money if I gave it all to Him? God’s heart is a generous one; is yours?
"GOD'S HEART IS A GENEROUS ONE;
LORD, you are infinitely generous. Thank you for giving yourself to me; you make my spirit rich! Please forgive me for neglecting the needs of others when I should have given testimony to your generosity. Teach me to live with an open hand, knowing that you provide and take away. Please help me trust you in every area of my life and live fully surrendered to your Holy Spirit.
