Iniquity

PROVERBS 5:22-23

“The iniquities of the wicked ensnare him, and he is held fast in the cords of his sin. He dies for lack of discipline, and because of his great folly he is led astray.”

We needed a redeemer to disentangle us from the cords of our sin. Thank the Lord that He came down to fulfill our need for redemption. Jesus came as the Truth to set us free. God loves us too much to allow us to stay stagnant. In the Old Testament, God disciplines His people when they disobey to remind them of their dependence on Him. When the disciples got sassy with Jesus, He was quick to put them in their place. Without discipline, there is no growth; without growth, there is no life. Proverbs reminds us that to walk in our understanding is to be led astray.

"WITHOUT DISCIPLINE, THERE IS NO GROWTH; WITHOUT GROWTH, THERE IS NO LIFE."

LORD, thank you for your discipline. Please forgive me for my iniquity. Please help me to humble myself and rely on you to fulfill all of my needs. Thank you, Jesus, for redeeming me and covering me in your love so that I can walk in righteousness.
