“As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.” -Luke 8:15
Have you had a baby grab your finger or pull your hair? Getting them to let go is almost impossible. You have to force their tiny iron grip open and quickly yank yourself away. That should be the force with which we hold onto Jesus.
God is a Good Father.
When we cling to Him, He gladly accepts the responsibility of teaching us how to be like Him. When we hold fast to His Word and abide by it, we start to bear the fruit of the Spirit.
Sanctification is receiving God’s Word and letting it grow around our hearts until we are completely out of the way, and His heart beats in our chest and gives us life.
LORD, thank you for Your patience with me. I want to be like You. Make me good soil to receive Your Word. Let me plant seeds in the lives of everyone I meet so they would encounter Your Holy Spirit and be saved.
