God Wins

PROVERBS 21:30-31

“No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel can avail against the Lord. The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord."

The wisdom of man is foolishness in the eyes of God. Ultimately, God is sovereign. He will have the victory in every battle. Often, we doubt if we should join the struggle if God gets the win anyway. Christians can become complacent about issues that are near to the Lord's heart; that is not what God wants! Poverty, persecution, social injustice, world hunger, education, and even taking care of our planet are all things that should concern God's people. I'm still asking God to give me a passion for some of those areas!

There was a song that we used to sing in Sunday School called "I'm in the Lord's Army." The chorus says, "I may never march in the infantry, ride in the cavalry, shoot the artillery; I may never shoot for the enemy, but I'm in the Lord's army!" Not every Christian is called to the mission field or the pulpit, but we are foot soldiers in the Lord's army. I believe that in this case, Christians are the horses made ready for battle as the Holy Spirit guides us to bring little bits of heaven to earth daily.

"WE MAY FIGHT FOR THE CAUSE OF CHRIST BUT THE GLORY AND HONOR ARE HIS."

LORD, thank you for clothing me in your victory. Please forgive me for the poor stewardship of my resources. Break my heart for what breaks yours. Please give me direction to battle strategically today.
