2 Corinthians 9:9
“As it is written, ‘He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.’” - 2 Corinthians 9:9
This verse comes from Psalm 112, which talks about a righteous person being immovable. There are so many poor and struggling people in the world. Some missionaries that work in developing countries will often marvel, “I don’t understand how people who have so little possessions can have so much joy.”
After reflecting upon their time away, some concluded that those people with so little were so spiritually full because what they do possess, they share!
A righteous man is not miserly with his gifts, but rather gives to those in need. Every person in our lives has a need. Whether it is a need for financial support, physical assistance, or just loving kindness, God, in His mercy, sends the righteous to find the need and fill it.
Are we asking God for His eyes to see the needs of others?
Do we align our hearts with the Lord’s to help his people?
