Faithful and True

LUKE 1:54-55

“He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors.”

Mary concludes her song by reminding us that God does not forget His people or His promises. When God enters into covenant with man, He faithfully completes His word. Even though thousands of years passed between God’s covenant with Abraham and the Annunciation, God kept His promise in His perfect timing. In those thousand years, God kept giving people hope for their Messiah. Even in the Christ-types of the Old Testament like David and Esther, God was signaling to the need for a Messiah. When God moves in history or in our lives do we remember His faithfulness or do we doubt his mercy?

"GOD DOES NOT FORGT HIS PEOPLE OR HIS PROMISES"

LORD, thank you for your faithfulness. Please help me to keep you as the love of my life. Let my thoughts never stray from you. Forgive me for being quick to lose hope in the life that you have promised me. Let my life speak to others of your holiness.
