“Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.”
It’s normal to get physically tired and spiritually weary in our current world. Chasing after the Lord is simple, but it’s not easy. Our culture idolizes the pursuit of selfish desires. “Do whatever you want as long as it makes you happy, and it doesn’t hurt anyone else.” No man is an island; the choices we make an influence and sometimes directly affect others. Christians will always face opposition from the sons of disobedience as long as they seek to do the Lord’s will. Jesus faced opposition, rejection, and hostility as He did his Father’s will on earth. The cultural climate becomes increasingly colder towards Christianity and the truths laid out in the Word of God. The enemy encourages us to follow our flesh at every turn. However, Jesus experienced every temptation this world had to offer and remained blameless. When we feel drained, we should remember two things: 1) Jesus has filled us with an overflow of love- we don’t draw from an empty well, and 2) We can lay our burdens on the Lord because He never tires of pursuing us!
"WE DON'T DRAW FROM AN EMPTY WELL!"
LORD, thank you for taking my burdens upon yourself. You are worth every piece of resistance I may encounter. Forgive me for relying on myself when I should have depended on you to satisfy my needs. Please help me to keep my eyes on you no matter what difficulties I may face in this world.
