“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
Someone once explained to me that to be pure means to be unmixed. Pure gold is free of dross; it is 100% gold. What are we made of? Oneness in a human looks like a heart undivided in its affection for God. Does being pure mean that we don’t sin? No. It merely means that we have surrendered everything to the Lord. We don’t lose our personality, interests, or profession for purity’s sake, but we filter everything through an eternal perspective. The pure in heart recognize where God is and where He isn’t. They know that there are certain things they will not think about, speak about or do because God is not in it. Is there something in your life that is dividing your desire for God? Are you willing to release it to the Lord and go with Him through the purification process? Letting go of our impurities can be the most painful thing we do. But it reaps the most beautiful reward.
"THE PURE IN HEART ARE QUICK TO RECOGNIZE WHERE GOD IS AND WHERE HE ISN'T."
LORD, you are Holy. Thank you for replacing my impurities with more of your Holy Spirit. Please help me to keep my eyes on you. Forgive me for following my desires above your will. Please teach me how to die to my sin and walk in the newness of life you have given me! There is nothing greater than to know you, Jesus.
