“But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me, one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.”
The details of the nativity story point to God’s exaltation of the lowly. Jesus was born to a teenage girl from Nazareth, a place that people deemed wholly unimportant. In those days, the consensus on Nazareth was that nothing good comes from it. The birthplace of our savior was the little town of Bethlehem, a small city in Judea that Micah declared “too little to be among the clans of Judah.” In every way possible, God elects the underdog to magnify His strength.
"GOD ELECTS THE UNDERDOG TO MAGNIFY HIS STRENTGTH."
LORD, in my weakness, you are strong. Thank you for choosing those whom the world has cast aside to prove your greatness. Please forgive me for boasting in myself instead of praising you! Please help me to humble myself and seek you daily.
