“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, ‘Abba! Father!”
One day, I was spending time with the LORD, and I had a vision. The sky was cloudless, and I could hear waves crashing somewhere beneath the soft cry of gulls. I was six-years-old running through a plain of grass so tall I could barely see over it. A breeze rippled over the tops of the grass and called my name in a whisper. I was filled with delight and ran in the direction of that whisper. Suddenly, the grass ended, and in an open field of wildflowers sat a man with a smile more radiant than the sun.
He opened his arms, and I rushed into them. Neither of us said anything, but I sat wrapped in pure love. Sometimes when I feel like there are clouds over my head, and I can’t hear, see, or feel my heavenly father, the Holy Spirit reminds me of this experience. Walking with Jesus isn’t easy, but it’s simple. He came to reconcile us to the father so that we could call upon Him as such.
"WALKING WITH JESUS ISN'T EASY, BUT IT'S SIMPLE."
LORD, you are the perfect father. Your steadfast love for me despite my sin awes me. Thank you for adopting me and writing me into Christ’s inheritance. Please help me to turn away from the things that distract me from you. Thank you because regardless of my feelings, you are with me, wrapping me in your arms of love.
